Box Score

BLOOMSBURG - Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) had two goals and two assists to lead the Huskies to a 7-2 victory over Kutztown on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Huskies clinch the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division II Title and will host the PSAC Final Four.

Bloomsburg opened up the scoring 8:58 into the opening 35 minutes of play, when Vanartsdalen scored her first goal of the game. The Golden Bears answered back at the 25:49 mark to tie the game. The Huskies took the lead nearly two minutes later when Ashley Miller (Shermans Dale/West Perry) scored a goal off a Vanartsdalen assist, but the Golden Bears would answer back again, with 53 seconds left to play in the half, tying the game at 2-2.

The two teams battled a scoreless first 20 minutes of the second half until the Huskies went on to score three goals within three minutes of play. The first of the three goals began with Amanda Riley (Tannersville/ Pocono Mountain East) with the assist coming from Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail), the second goal came from Venessa Witman (Oley/Oley Valley) off a Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/ Pen Argyl) assist, and Due scored the third goal off another Kropa assist. The three goals and a late goal by Vanartsdalen in the 66th minute would seal the win for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg defense was led by goalkeeper Allison Ziants (Winfield/Selinsgrove) who made 12 saves in the game to give her a 0.756 saving percentage on the season.

With the seven goals of today's game the Huskies have 124 for the year, eight goals shy of their Division II record of 132 goals scored a year ago.
